Frequently asked
Questions about the Fund
Quick answers about eligibility, timelines, and what happens after the Minister's decision. If you can't find what you need, get in touch.
- Who is eligible to apply?
- Arts organisations, sporting organisations, statutory corporations, and individuals practising or developing arts or sport in Barbados, per Cap 39.
- How long does the process take?
- Submissions move through triage, eligibility, Committee review, and Minister decision. Most applications reach a decision within 8–12 weeks of submission, depending on Committee meeting cadence.
- Can I edit my application after submitting?
- No — submitted applications are locked. If we need more information, we will move the application to 'RFI' and you will be able to respond.
- Why do I need a bond and two sureties?
- Regulation 2A(1)(b)(iii) requires a bond with two sureties before any disbursement is released. The Accountant-General captures these once funding is approved.
- What happens to my data?
- See the Privacy Notice. Briefly: it is used to assess your application, record disbursements, and produce statutory audit packets. You can exercise your DPA rights at any time via the DSAR form.
